In our 2016-2017 season, QUO Celebrates NYC: Our City, Our Home. Join us for our next concert on February 18 when we present

  • Carter: Elegy for String Orchestra
  • Villa-Lobos: Cirando das sete notas
  • Music for Trumpet and Orchestra
    • La Virgen de la Macarena
    • Oblivion
    • Echoes of Harlem
    • Vivaldi/Bach Concerto
  • Favorite romantic music from the movies, including
    • Music from Carol
    • Tango de la Luna
    • Adagio from Spartacus
    • Dvorak Waltzes

Our gift to you this season is an all-star cast of guests. Joining us for the trumpet set will be Joe Burgstaller, who — in keeping with the evening’s theme — is also the husband of our artistic director Julie Desbordes. QUO’s own Darcy Grae, winner of our annual concert competition, will be the bassoon soloist in the Villa-Lobos, and QUO’s former Artistic Director Nolan Dresden returns to conduct the Carter. Need some romance? Our movie music will be interpreted by dancers Quetzal Arias and Chris Braz. And we are thrilled to announce that the evening will be hosted by Jenny Lee Mitchell.

As always, join us at 7:15 for a pre-concert discussion panel with our artistic directors and soloists.
