QUO’s 2017-2018 Composition Contest Queer Urban Orchestra (QUO) is thrilled to announce our second annual composition contest. For our 2017-2018 season, QUO presents We Are One: A musical journey around the world exploring the depths of the human condition. As part of that season, QUO will feature the winning work in the composition contest in the fourth concert of our series on May 5th, 2018. A second performance may take place on May 6. Contest Guidelines QUO’s composition contest serves to find and promote the creative talent of composers who identify as members or allies of the LGBTQ community and to provide a performance opportunity for new works. All composers are welcome to apply. The composition should have a maximum length of 10 minutes. Orchestration can (but need not fully) encompass: 3(any combination), 3(inc. 1 EH), 3 (including either one E-flat or one bass), 2+1 – 4 2 3 1 – tmp+2 – harp – str.
